The
National Association of Basketball Coaches has announced its
All-District teams, UNI’s AJ Green of Cedar Falls and Austin
Phyfe of Waverly each were First Team honorees while head Coach Ben
Jacobson was named NABC District Coach of the Year.
Green
averaged 19.7 points per game while shooting 41.6% from the field and
39.1% from beyond the three point arc. Green was named MVC Player of
the Year, First Team All-MVC and was named to the 2020 MVC Scholar
Athlete of the Year.
Pyfe lands
of the NABC First Team after a season that saw the
red-shirt sophomore earn First Team All-MVC recognition. Phyfe
averaged just under a double-double, recording 11.2 points per game
and 8.2 rebounds per game. Pyhfe led the MVC in shooting percentage,
making 61.7% of his attempts from the field.
