A man wanted on a federal warrant led Waterloo Police on a high speed chase through a residential neighborhood early Saturday morning, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. Police attempted to pull over a vehicle driven by Deakota Shields of Iowa City around 2:00 a.m. Saturday for no taillights. Shields refused to pull over however and led police on a chase reaching speeds of 80mph in a 25mph zone. Shields turned down a dead end road and was unable to continue in the car, so he got out and ran into a field. Police were able to Tase him and take him into custody. Shields was wanted on a federal warrant for allegedly distributing heroin. He was found with marijuana on him when he was arrested this time. He was also charged with Eluding Police by Driving 25mph over the speed limit, which is a felony.
