Tuesday night on KWAY Country the 4th ranked Waverly-Shell Rock girls basketball team beat Western Dubuque 56-39. Senior Abbie Draper had 22 points for the Go-Hawks as they won their first game of the season.
Tuesday night on Y99.3 Denver split a doubleheader. In the girls game the 3rd ranked Cylcones fell to the 14th ranked Dike-New Hartford Wolverines 56-31. In the boys game Denver outscored Class 3A Marion 86-81 for a very impressive win. Issac Besh led the Cyclones with 28 points.
In other boys scores Tuesday night: Don Bosco beat Clarksville 46-37, Waterloo Columbus topped Union 55-49, Nashua-Plainfield beat Rockford 86-63, North Butler slammed Northwood-Kensett 51-36 and Tripoli beat Riceville 54-30.
In other girls scores Tuesday night: Clarksville beat Don Bosco 54-26, Hudson hammered Wapsie Valley 56-20, Nashua-Plainfield topped Rockford 55-30, North Butler edged Northwood-Kensett 30-26 and Jesup beat Sumner-Fredericksburg 55-39.
