Thursday night on KWAY Country the Waverly-Shell Rock basketball teams easily swept Oelwein with both teams putting the 35 point rule into effect. The Go-Hawk girls won 60-24 with Katie Harken scoring 16. The Go-Hawk boys won 66-29 as Austin Phyfe scored 18 points.
Thursday night in area girls basketball scores: Clarksville demolished Riceville 58-23, Waterloo Columbus smashed Gladbrook-Reinbeck 63-24, Dunkerton topped Tripoli 45-24, Meskwaki Settlement beat Valley Lutheran 50-33 and Sumner-Fredericksburg routed South Winnishiek 47-29.
Thursday night in area boys basketball: Don Bosco beat North Tama 65-47, Dunkerton got by Tripoli 75-62, Gladbrook-Reinbeck slammed Waterloo Columbus 68-25, Osage crushed Nashua-Plainfield 74-19 and Riceville beat Clarksville 61-56.
