Tuesday night on KWAY Country the Waverly-Shell Rock basketball teams swept Oelwein for the second time this season. The Go-Hawk girls dominated winning 77-4 as Abbie Draper scored 17 and the Huskies only managed points in the second quarter. On the season the Go-Hawk girls scored 156 points while holding Oelwein to only 8 in two games. On the boys side Waverly-Shell Rock’s defense was just as dominating as they won 58-34. The Go-Hawks only allowed 8 first half points and Hogan Hansen netted 19 points in the win.

Tuesday night on Y99.3 Dike-New Hartford and Denver split a doubleheader. The Wolverine girls won 58-35. In the boys game Denver knocked off the 6th ranked and previously undefeated Wolverines 61-55 as Kyler Matthias exploded for 27 points to lead the way in the Cyclone win.

In girls’ hoops: Jesup topped Sumner-Fredericksburg 49-29, Columbus beat Union 40-31, Tripoli outscored Waterloo Christian 52-39, Clarksville topped Riceville 61-45, Dunkerton ran by Don Bosco 45-29, Iowa City West crushed Waterloo East 71-28, Nashua-Plainfield ran over Rockford 59-27, AGWSR edged Aplington-Parkersburg 39-35, North Butler clipped Northwood-Kensett 35-34, Xavier beat Waterloo West 65-52, Cedar Falls crushed Liberty 73-19 and Hudson thumped Wapsie Valley 65-21.
