Thursday night on KWAY Country the Waverly-Shell Rock girls basketball team overcame an early deficit to beat Center Point-Urbana 63-55. The Go-Hawks were led by Olivia Phillips’ 23 points. Phillips had 19 points in the 2nd half. The Go-Hawks are now 1-1 on the year.
In other girls scores Thursday night: GMG beat Waterloo Christian 55-24, Oelwein topped Dunkerton 47-23 and Aplington-Parkersburg crushed Charles City 65-25.
In boys scores Thursday night: Mason City outscored New Hampton 83-78, Janesville crushed BCLUW 61-37, GMG slammed Waterloo Christian 80-26 and Charles City edged Aplington-Parkersburg 70-66.
