Tuesday night on KWAY Country the Waverly-Shell Rock basketball teams swept Oelwein convincingly to get wins in the conference opener. The Go-Hawk girls crushed the Huskies 79-5 with seven Go-Hawks outscoring the entire Husky team. In the boys game Go-Hawk sophomore scored Keaton Farmer 19 points to lead Waverly-Shell Rock to a 66-43 win and their first win of the season.
Tuesday night on Y99.3 the Tripoli Panthers and Janesville Wildcats split a doubleheader. In the girls game Taylor Flaig netted 17 as they Panthers won 50-40. In the boys game Jared Hoodjer scored 14 as Janesville won 58-50 with their top scorer out sick.

In girls basketball: Dike-New Hartford ran by Wapsie Valley 57-24, Newman beat Nashua-Plainfield 58-44, Sumner-Fredericksburg rolled Columbus 57-45, Aplington-Parkersburg rolled Union 58-20, Kennedy edged Cedar Falls 58-57, Prairie beat Waterloo West 68-48, Jefferson crushed Waterloo East 67-18, Riceville hammered Valley Lutheran 60-6, Sumner-Fredericksburg beat Columbus 46-39 and Central Springs topped North Butler 47-39.
