Prep BBall Scores 12-11-18

Tuesday night on KWAY Country the Waverly-Shell Rock basketball teams swept New Hampton. The Go-Hawk girls remain unbeaten in league play as they beat the Chickasaws 50-36. W-SR trailed by one point after the first quarter before pulling away in the second quarter and never looking back. Abbie Draper led all scorers with 16 points.

In the boys game Waverly-Shell Rock got their second conference win by smashing New Hampton 60-30. A big second quarter did it for the Go-Hawk boys as well. Cade Pruhs led all scorers with 13 points.

Tuesday night on Y99.3 Clarksville and Tripoli split a doubleheader. The 11th ranked Indian girls won 58-46 as Chloe Ross scored 18 for Clarksville and Zoe Semelroth netted 17 for Tripoli. In the boys game full court pressure helped Tripoli win 65-53 in come from behind fashion. Conner Piehl for Tripoli and Ethan Schmidt both had 22 points in the game.

In other area girls scores: Janesville crushed Riceville 68-32, Denver edged Jesup 54-53, Hudson clipped Wapsie Valley 35-30, Cedar Rapids Washington outscored Waterloo West 63-50, Cedar Falls topped Cedar Rapids Jefferson 61-36, Cedar Rapids Kennedy beat Waterloo East 67-51, Dunkerton doubled up Waterloo Christian 49-24, Aplinton-Parkersburg thumped Dike-New Hartford 50-35, Union beat Columbus 41-36 and Osage outscored North Butler 61-24.

In other area boys scores: Janeville cruised by Riceville 80-36, Wapsie Valley beat Hudson 64-47, Dike -New Hartford topped Aplington-Parkersburg 71-47, Dunkerton ran by Waterloo Christian 99-43, Cedar Falls beat Cedar Rapids Jefferson 61-55, Denver edged Jesup 54-53, Waterloo West clipped Cedar Rapids Jefferson 69-61, Sumner-Fredericksburg beat Clayton Ridge 64-45, Cedar Rapids Kennedy edged Waterloo East 85-84, Osage crushed North Butler 70-22 and Union edged Columbus 70-68.
