Tuesday night on KWAY Country the Waverly-Shell Rock basketball teams swept Cedar Rapids Jefferson. The 6th ranked Go-Hawk girls won 52-34. Lizzy Frazell led all scorers with 24 points and had 22 in the first half as the Go-Hawks go to 7-0 on the season. In the boys game Waverly-Shell Rock beat Jefferson 68-48 as Henry Ruzicka led the Go-Hawks with 15 points. The Go-Hawks are now 2-2.
Tuesday night on Y99.3 Dunkerton basketball swept Clarksville. In the girls game the Raiders won 50-38 as Kylee Pexa had 18 points in the win and Paige Kampman netted 21 points in the loss. In the boys game Dunkerton beat Clarksville 53-44 as Aidan Hesse scored 21 points.
In other girls basketball: Union beat Columbus 41-27, Denver crushed Dike-New Hartford 67-24, Janesville beat Don Bosco 62-30, Jesup topped Sumner-Fredericksburg 62-32, Cedar Ridge Christian edged Tripoli 41-36 and Oelwein beat Wapsie Valley 73-66.
In boys basketball: Union topped Columbus 65-51, Denver beat Dike-New Hartford 80-42, Don Bosco got by Janesville 60-43, Sumner-Fredericksburg topped Jesup 69-54, Cedar Ridge Christian beat Tripoli 68-57 and Wapsie Valley ran over Oelwein 70-41.
