Prep BBall Scores 12-4-18

Tuesday night on KWAY Country the Waverly-Shell Rock basketball teams swept Oelwein to start the conference season. In the girls’ game the Go-Hawks won 70-11. The Huskies didn’t score until 54.4. seconds remaining in the first half. Abbie Draper lead W-SR with 17 points, Olivia Phillips added 15, Laura Bates had 14 and Kenzier Roling chipped in 10.

In the boys’ game Waverly-Shell Rock won 73-60. Freshman Hogan Hansen scored 36 points which is tied for 3rd most in a game in school history behind Joe Green’s 42 and Fred Grawe’s 43 points in a game.

Tuesday night on Y99.3 Janesville and Don Bosco split a doubleheader. In the girls game Briana Baker-Bruce scored 26 points as Janesville won 74-15. In the boys game Don Bosco won 59-47 behind Jack Kelley’s 24 point night.

In other area girls scores: Central Springs edged North Butler 25-24, Waterloo West slammed Waterloo East 57-23, Hudson beat Sumner-Fredericksburg 50-42, Jesup topped Dike-New Hartford 55-40, Aplington-Parkersburg cruised by Columbus 61-20, Cedar Falls outscored Cedar Rapids Kennedy 54-35, Clarkville demolished Riceville 69-19 and Wapsie Valley beat Denver 50-39.

In other area boys scores: Waterloo East beat Waterloo West 89-72, Central Springs edged North Butler 37-36, Tripoli crushed Waterloo Christian 80-35, Clarksville topped Riceville 35-26, Sumner-Fredericksburg beat Hudson 49-28, Aplington-Parkersburg crushed Columbus 84-39, Dike-New Hartford beat Jesup 66-43 and Denver ran by Wapsie Valley 83-49.
