Thursday night the Waverly-Shell Rock girls and boys basketball teams swept Mt. Vernon on KWAY Country. The Go-Hawk girls beat the 7th ranked Mustangs 56-39, Grace Reyerson lead the Go-Hawks with 13 points. In the boys game the Go-Hawks won 53-45, Austin Phyfe had 21 points.
Thursday night in area girls basketball: Aplington-Parkersburg beat Hudson 46-29, Columbus crushed Don Bosco 54-15 and Janesville slammed North Tama 66-13.
Thursday night in boys basketball: Clayton Ridge beat Sumner-Fredericksburg 59-50, Dike-New Hartford outscored Grundy Center 69-45, Don Bosco beat Waterloo Columbus 62-54, Hudson edged Aplington-Parkersburg 57-54, Janesville topped North Tama 71-59 and Wapsie Valley edged AGWSR 49-48.
