Tuesday night on KWAY Country the Waverly-Shell Rock basketball teams swept New Hampton in Northeast Iowa play. The Go-Hawk girls won 67-31. In the game they hit a team record 10 3-pointers. In the boys game Waverly-Shell Rock beat New Hampton 70-39; John Stensland led the Go-Hawks with 22 points.
Tuesday night in area girls basketball: Cedar Falls topped Linn-Mar 62-48, Cedar Rapids Washington beat Waterloo East 73-60, Clarksville demolished Waterloo Christian 66-12, Colo-Nesco hammered Valley Lutheran 63-19, Dike-New Hartford beat Jesup 39-30, GMG outscored Don Bosco 69-43, Sumner-Fredericksburg beat Hudson 62-34 and Waterloo West was victorious over Cedar Rapids Kennedy 59-45.
Tuesday night in area boys basketball: Cedar Rapids Kennedy beat Waterloo West 73-51, Denver edged Union 51-50, Dike-New Hartford beat Jesup 59-45, Don Bosco outscored GMG 59-44, Dunkerton topped Meskwaki Settlement 69-60, Hudson beat Sumner-Fredericksburg 66-47 and Waterloo East slipped by Cedar Rapids Washington 65-64.
