Tuesday night on KWAY Country the Waverly-Shell Rock boys held on to beat Charles City 48-44. The Go-Hawks led by 10 points with two minutes left but Charles City stormed back within one point before the Go-Hawks put them away. Hogan Hansen led the Go-Hawks with 19 points and Caleb Burks had a bushel of blocked shots.
Tuessday night the Go-Hawk girls beat Charles City 64-37 to complete an undefeated Northeast Iowa Conference season.
Tuesday night on Y99.3 the Denver boys defeated Dike-New Hartford 73-64 behind 21 points a piece from Kyler Matthias and Isaac Besh.
Tuesday night in area boys basketball: Waterloo West edged Dubuque Senior 51-50, Cedar Falls beat Dubuque Wahlert 72-48, Don Bosco topped Clarksville 74-42, Sumner-Fredericksburg beat Jesup 51-41, Aplington-Parkersburg outscored Hudson 70-57 and Wapsie Valley beat Oelwein 67-41.
In girls basketball: Aplington-Parkesburg beat Hudson 45-35, Clarksville hammered Don Bosco 62-12, Hempstead defeated Waterloo East 52-37, Cedar Falls clipped Dubuque Wahlert 53-49 and Waterloo West beat Dubuque Senior 69-49.
