Tuesday night the Waverly-Shell Rock boys and girls basketball teams finished the Northeast Iowa Conference season with championships. Tuesday night on KWAY Country the W-SR boys beat Charles City 71-45 to finish off an undefeated conference season. The Go-Hawk girls smashed Charles City 79-15 to win at least a share of the conference title.
Tuesday night in area boys basketball: CAL beat Clarksville 58-50, Dike-New Hartford topped Waterloo Columbus 52-40, Don Bosco hammered Waterloo Christian 75-23, Dubuque Senior beat Waterloo West 75-59, Hudson topped Denver 63-48, Jesup got by Aplington-Parkersburg 66-51, Rockford topped North Butler 64-58, Union ran by Sumner-Fredericksburg 67-43, Dubuque Wahlert edged Cedar Falls 49-46 and West Fork slammed Nashua-Plainfield 68-33.
Tuesday night in area girls basketball: Aplington-Parkersburg edged Jesup 38-34, Cedar Falls dominated Dubuque Wahlert 66-21, Central City hammered Valley Lutheran 56-33, Rockford topped North Butler 53-33, Wapsie Valley nipped Waterloo Columbus 58-57 in overtime and Waterloo West beat Dubuque Senior 62-39.
