Tuesday night on KWAY Country the Waverly-Shell Rock basketball teams swept West Delaware. In the girls game the 9th ranked Go-Hawks beat the Hawks 44-33. In the boys game 10th ranked Waverly-Shell Rock topped West Delaware 57-36. Both Go-Hawk teams are now 9-3 on the season.
Tuesday night on Y99.3 the Denver Cyclones and Dike-New Hartford Wolverines split a doubleheader. The top-ranked Wolverines beat the Cyclones 54-18 in the girls game. In the boys game Denver outlasted Dike-New Hartford 73-68 in overtime.
In other boys basketball: Cedar Falls topped Iowa City High 62-57, Waterloo Christian beat Don Bosco 56-45, Dunkerton ran by Tripoli 83-52, Janesville bested Riceville 60-45, Newman beat Nashua-Plainfield 60-53, Jesup topped Sumner-Fredericksburg 68-44, Wapsie Valley beat Union 68-53 and Xavier pounded Waterloo West 57-37.
In girls basketball: Cedar Falls beat City High 54-38, New Hampton topped Columbus 66-58, Waterloo Christian crushed Don Bosco 51-18, Dunkerton beat Tripoli 39-28, Newman topped Nashua-Plainfield 47-26, Sumner-Fredericksburg got by Jesup 63-54, Union edged Wapsie Valley 36-28, Ottumwa beat Waterloo East 42-23 and 3rd ranked Waterloo West beat 3rd ranked Xavier 73-50.
