Tuesday night on KWAY Country the West Delaware boys beat Waverly-Shell Rock handily 54-29. The Go-Hawks had an early lead in the game before the Hawks went on a 12-0 run and never looked back. The Go-Hawks are now 9-4 on the season and West Delaware is 6-7.
Tuesday night on Y99.3 the Dike-New Hartford Wolverines and Denver Cyclones split a doubleheader. The top-ranked Wolverine girls beat 2nd ranked Denver 49-39 despite the Cyclones making all 17 of their free throw attempts. In the boys game Denver won 70-59 as the Cyclones hit 15 3’s and Mitchell DeVries scored 26 points.
In other boys basketball: Cedar Falls crushed Xavier 64-30, New Hampton beat Columbus 55-46, Waterloo Christian clipped Don Bosco 60-55, Dunkerton ran by Tripoli 83-29, Riceville beat Janesville 50-38, Jesup topped Sumner-Fredericksburg 59-43 and Iowa City Liberty beat Waterloo West 61-58.
In girls basketball: Cedar Falls topped Xavier 52-48, Columbus edged New Hampton 43-41, Waterloo Christian slammed Don Bosco 53-18, Dunkerton edged Tripoli 39-35, Riceville beat Janesville 68-26, Nashua-Plainfield handled Newman Catholic 58-29, Jesup edged Sumner-Fredericksburg 63-60 and Waterloo West beat Iowa City Liberty 64-58.
