Tuesday night on KWAY Country Waverly-Shell Rock split a basketball doubleheader with Center Point-Urbana. The Go-Hawk girls fell to CP-U 41-32 for just their second loss of the season. In the boys game a balanced attack and 10 3’s helped Waverly-Shell Rock win 60-52.
Tuesday night on Y99.3 Denver and Wapsie Valley split a doubleheader. In the girls game Denver won 45-38 behind 13 points from Grace Hennessy. In the boys game Denver led by more than 20 points and 18 at halftime before Wapsie Valley roared back to win 72-69. Denver’s Clayton Liddle led all scorers with 26 points.
In other boys basketball: Waterloo East upset Cedar Falls 52-48, Don Bosco beat Colo-Nesco 48-41, GMG edged Waterloo Christian 68-66 and Waterloo West topped Linn-Mar 60-55.
In girls basketball: Cedar Falls beat Waterloo East 58-23, Linn-Mar upset #1 Waterloo West 72-68 in double overtime, Don Bosco crushed Colo-Nesco 41-16 and Waterloo Christian edged GMG 49-48.
