Tuesday night on KWAY Country the Waverly-Shell Rock girls basketball team opened up the 2022-23 campaign with a 62-43 win on the road versus Western Dubuque. The Go-Hawks got 21 points a piece from Brenna Bodensteiner and Katelyn Eggena.
In other girls basketball: Columbus beat Wapsie Valley 52-38 and Waterloo West crushed Waterloo East 71-28.
Tuesday night in boys basketball: Jesup topped Columbus 93-59, Denver ran by East Marshall 78-64, Waterloo Christian beat Janesville 48-42, Sumner-Fredericksburg topped Waukon 72-56 and Waterloo East beat Waterloo West 46-43.
