Monday night on Y99.3 Denver and Dike-New Hartford split a basketball doubleheader. In the girls game the top-ranked Wolverines won 55-24 as Jadyn Petersen scored 22 points. In the boys game Denver edged Dike-New Hartford 63-60 as Eli Ricketts scored 24 points for the Cyclones.
Monday night on KWAY Country the 3rd ranked Waverly-Shell Rock boys beat 6th ranked Marion 76-58 to win their 16th game in a row and go to 16-2 on the season. The game was 33-32 at halftime before the Go-Hawks used a massive 3rd quarter to go up by 20 and not look back. The Go-Hawks will host 5th ranked Decorah on Friday and KWAY Country will have the coverage.
In other boys basketball Monday night: Saint Ansgar beat Clarksville 69-31, Aplington-Parkersburg topped Columbus 60-47, Cascade overcame Don Bosco 53-35, Dunkerton beat Mason City Newman 72-55, Jesup crushed Wapsie Valley 92-49 and Waterloo Christian beat Oelwein 81-62.
In girls basketball: Saint Ansgar slammed Clarksville 54-18, Aplington-Parkersburg edged Columbus 57-54, Newman beat Dunkerton 49-38 and Jesup ran by Wapsie Valley 54-31.
