Tuesday night in basketball on Y99.3 Denver and Aplington-Parkersburg split a doubleheader. The 2nd ranked Denver girls bested 12th ranked Aplington-Parkersburg 55-39. Reese Johnson and Grace Hennessy both scored 19 points for the Cyclones. In the boys game the 4th ranked Falcons won 67-55 as Jayden Mackie led the way with 22 points, including 17 in the second half. Mitchell DeVries had 19 points for Denver.
In other boys basketball: Nashua-Plainfield beat Tripoli 54-40, Wapsie Valley crushed BCLUW 77-10, Dubuque Hempstead beat Waterloo West 65-47 and Dubuque Senior edged Waterloo East 69-64.
In other girls basketball: Cedar Falls smashed Wahlert 73-33, Waterloo West got by Dubuque Hempstead 77-43 and Dubuque Senior beat Waterloo East 52-34.
