Tuesday night on KWAY Country the Waverly-Shell Rock boys soccer team defeated Clear Lake in overtime 2-1. The Go-Hawks trailed 1-0 at halftime. In the second half Dylan Eggleston tied the game and it stayed knotted up until overtime. In the first extra period Eggleston scored a golden goal with 5:23 remaining to give Waverly-Shell Rock their 3rd win of the year. Jordan Downing assisted on both goals.
Tuesday night on Y99.3 the top-ranked Iowa City Regina boys edged Waterloo Columbus 2-1 in penalty kicks. The Sailors scored on a penalty late in regulation to tie.
In other area boys soccer Cedar Falls beat Dubuque Senior 4-1.
In area girls soccer Iowa City Regina also beat Waterloo Columbus by a 2-1 score, Grundy-Center-Gladbrook-Reinbeck edged Hudson 3-2 in penalty kicks and Waterloo East shutout Dubuque Hempstead 1-0.
