Thursday night on KWAY Country the Waverly-Shell Rock girls soccer team edged Denver 1-0 to stay undefeated. At the same time in Waverly the Go-Hawk boys fell 4-2 to Gladbrook-Reinbeck-Grundy Center.
Thursday night in area girls soccer: Aplington-Parkersburg shutout Hudson 1-0, Cedar Falls edged Iowa City West 1-0, Gladbrook-Reinbeck-Grundy Center clipped Union in overtime 3-2 and Waterloo blanked Cedar Rapids Jefferson 2-0.
In area boys soccer Iowa City West shutout Cedar Falls 2-0.
