The 6th-12th grade principal at Valley Lutheran School in Cedar Falls has been arrested for allegedly having sex with a student, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. 40 year old Lucas Tanney allegedly admitted to police that he had been texting the student for about a week before the conversation turned explicit. The student then allegedly came to his home on May 23rd where they had sex. Tanney also allegedly disclosed that he had sent sexual text messages to two other students about 10 years ago but neither of those conversations resulted in physical contact. Tanney, who was also the girls track coach, has been charged with Sexual Exploitation by a School Employee and Grooming. His bond has been set at $10,000.
