A Waterloo man who threatened children with a gun after he claimed they had broken into several cars in his neighborhood has been sentenced to probation, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. 41 year old Marcus Gardner held up a 12 year old and a 13 year old in 2021 after his wife called police to report the children for allegedly breaking in to parked vehicles. Gardner was charged with Robbery, but he would plea to Assault While Displaying a Weapon. He was granted a deferred judgment which means if he completes two years of supervised probation, the charge will be wiped from his record.
