The City of Cedar Falls has revealed that they were allegedly the victim of a ransomware event. They say they became aware of the attack on June 19th and engaged legal counsel and cybersecurity professionals to conduct an investigation. The City believes the unauthorized activity was limited and all affected services have been restored at this time. An investigation continues in an effort to determine if any personal information was affected. If they find that it was, they say they will contact those individuals. No other information has been released at this point.
