Empty grandstands masked the national attention Sunday’s Real Heroes 400 got. NASCAR’s return to racing for the first time in 10 weeks was a success. Kevin Harvick took the checkered flag with Dr. Joshua Hughes’ name on the side, but the biggest story was simply that a race happened. Financially NASCAR is not as well organized to sustain a long period without racing and fans were itching for it as well.
