Wednesday night on KWAY Country in Class 2A Regional action Sumner-Fredericksburg swept Cascade 25-14, 25-12, 25-7. Isabelle Elliott led the way with 12 kills and 8 aces. The Cougars will host Bellevue on Monday for the semifinals.
Wednesday night on Y99.3 Wapsie Valley swept Maquoketa Valley 25-18, 25-15, 25-21 as Anna Curley had 17 kills. The Warriors will host Beckman Catholic in the next round on Monday.
In other Class 2A volleyball: Denver swept Alburnett and Waterloo Columbus beat Durant in four sets. The Cyclones and Sailors will play each other Monday in Denver.
In Class 1A volleyball: Don Bosco swept English Valley and will host Wapello on Monday, Janesville swept Central Elkader and will next play Starmont who beat Dunkerton in 5 sets, and Tripoli swept Waterloo Christian and will play at Saint Ansgar on Monday.
