Reynolds Delays Announcement About Easing Restrictions

Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds’ press conference was delayed to 11:30 Tuesday. The governor, who was doing self-isolation after possibly being exposed to coronavirus at the White House, came in to the press conference with the head of the Iowa Department of Public Health Sarah Reisetter.

Most importantly during her press conference she delayed the announcement of any easing of restrictions until Wednesday.

The latest COVID-19 numbers have been updated for Iowa. 539 more Iowans have tested positive for a total of 12,912, 394 Iowans are currently hospitalized with the novel coronavirus, 18 more have died from COVID-19 for a total of 289, 369 more that tested positive have recovered for a total of 5,618. Overall 81,288 Iowans have been tested which means 1 in 26 Iowans have been tested which is a massive improvement from just a few weeks ago.

Locally the numbers have changed in 3 area counties. Bremer County has 2 new cases for a total of 60 and Floyd County has 1 new case for a total of 6 as reported on the state’s website. Black Hawk County Health Department reports 7 new cases for a total of 1,761 confirmed cases and 29 deaths.
