Thursday night in boys basketball on KWAY Country Central DeWitt shocked 6th ranked Waverly-Shell Rock 70-66. Waverly-Shell Rock led in every quarter until the 4th. Go-Hawk senior Luke Frazell tied his school record with 44 points in the loss. In fact, Frazell had four of the six 40-point games in school history this year and finishes as the single-game and single-season scoring leader and only 108 points behind Jake Velky’s career scoring record despite Frazell only scoring 6 points his freshman season. The Go-Hawks bowed out in the Sub-State Semifinals and finish with a 17-6 record.
Central DeWitt will face last year’s champ Assumption in the Sub-State Final on Monday.
