Sanderson Qualifies for State Again as He leads Denver

Denver eighth-grader Brody Sanderson secured his second consecutive state archery tournament appearance after leading all Denver archers with a score of 268 at the Jesup Archery Invitational this past weekend at Jesup High School.
Brody is the son of Blair and Sarah Sanderson of rural Denver. He is also the brother of Sophie Sanderson who is also a talented archer with the club.
The invitational was Denver’s first competition of 2025, as the Dike-New Hartford invite scheduled for December 14th was canceled due to a winter storm that brought ice to the area. Sanderson’s 268-point performance at Jesup matched his score from the South Tama Invitational in early December, the team’s only event before the break.Sanderson surpassed the 516 points required for middle schoolers to qualify for state in just his first two invites of the season, earning an impressive total score of 536 points, with at least five more invites left to compete in.
Marion will be the site of the next invitational for the Denver Archery Club where a handful of archers across the grades have a shot to join Sanderson in qualifying for state.
