Schools to Monitor Symptoms

School is starting soon and districts are training staff to recognized the high risk or low risk symptoms of COVID-19.

Bremer County Health Department Administrator Lindley Sharp gives a scenario of what that could look like.

Sharp also said the State will be providing guidance for schools that are in multiple counties on how to measure a 14 day positivity rate for the district. 14 day positivity rate and absentee rate are the metrics being used to decide when schools can and cannot go to remote learning. 10% absenteeism and or 15% positivity rate in the county are the threshold given by the State to petition to move online.
