Monday night the Waverly-Shell Rock boys basketball season came to a close as Des Moines Hoover beat the Go-Hawks 59-44 in Nevada to advance to the Class 3A State Tournament. Hoover’s Chase Henderson had 27 points in the win. The Go-Hawks finished the season 17-6 and co-champs of the Northeast Iowa Conference.
Four boys were honored by the conference. Cole Marsh and Noah Frazell were first team and Luke Frazell and Benny Ramker were on the second team.
