Sleeping Driver Causes Crash

A driver falling asleep led to a single vehicle crash that sent four people to the hospital, according to the Bremer County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies say it happened about 12:25 a.m. Saturday on U.S. 218 near the 205 exit . 28-year-old Bryan Kemper of St. Louis was northbound when he fell asleep and entered the median. Kemper then over-corrected and crossed back over the northbound lanes, causing the vehicle to roll several times into the east ditch. The driver and three passengers, all from St. Louis, suffered minor to serious injuries. Emergency crews took all four to the Waverly Health Center. The Waverly Ambulance, Waverly Fire Department, and Dales Towing Service assisted the sheriff’s office.
