Speed Limit Bill

The speed limits around the state may be changing in the near future. A bill in the senate would call for speed limits of 65 miles per hour on high speed roads. That would also go for roads that are divided and have multiple lanes, while speed limits on interstates would jump to 75 miles per hour. Some concerns about the bill center around a stat from the Iowa State Patrol that says 52% of deaths on Iowa roads in 2016 were caused by speeding.
