Friday afternoon the Waverly-Shell Rock girls soccer team won their first ever State Championship. The Go-Hawks beat Dallas Center-Grimes 5-1 in the Class 2A Title Game. Waverly-Shell Rock had been in the State Championship Match the prior two times and had lost by a goal each time. Friday was the Go-Hawks’ fifth title game and their first time winning the crown.
Sasha Wilson, Kenzie Roling, Siri Ott and Macy Smith were named to the All Tournament Team and Roling with her 8 State goals was named the captain of the team.
