Tuesday in the Class 2A State Volleyball Tournament on Y99.3 3-seeded Dike-New Hartford swept Sumner-Fredericksburg 25-14, 25-12, 25-13.
On KWAY Country the 4-seeded Denver Cyclones beat Boyden-Hull in 4 sets 25-22, 11-25, 25-22, 26-24. Denver advances to play top seeded Western Christian this evening at 5:30. KWAY Country AM 1470 FM 96.3 will have the coverage starting at 5:15.
Tuesday night in the Class 1A State Volleyball Tournament 1-seed Janesville was upset by 8-seed St. Albert of Council Bluffs in 4 sets. The Saints won 25-20, 25-18, 18-25, 26-24 to bounce the Wildcats in the first round for the second year in a row.
The State Semifinals are set in each class. In 1A St. Albert will face Gladbrook-Reinbeck and Notre Dame will play Gehlen Catholic, in 2A Western Christian will play Denver and Wilton will take on Dike-New Hartford, in 3A Osage will play Davenport Assumption and Clarion-Goldfield-Dows will face Mt. Vernon, in 4A Xavier will battle Western Dubuque and Gilbert will play West Delaware, and in 5A Dowling and Liberty will play and Ankeny will face Pleasant Valley Wednesday.
