Successful Sunday for Wartburg

Sunday in College soccer the Wartburg women shut out St. Olaf 3-0. Junior Nicole Adair of Reinbeck got the Knights’ first goal of the game, scoring with her own corner kick at 20:00. Netting Wartburg’s next two goals was senior Morgan Neuendorf of Plainfield.

Sunday Wartburg’s women’s tennis got two bracket champions in the Gustavus Invitational. Winning the singles Draw #8 bracket was sophomore Hannah Fox of Waverly, 6-2 and 6-1 over Lora Leach of Carroll College. In consolation action, junior Ashley Rottinghaus won her bracket, 8-3 over Kally Peterson of Bethel.

This weekend in college golf Wartburg junior Brooke Klostermann won her fourth-straight individual medalist honors of the season at the College City Challenge in Minnesota. She had a two-day score of 150. Wartburg took sixth in the 12-team field with a total score of 666. Host Carleton won the team title with its 620.


Klostermann has now tied the school record for career individual medalist honors of 10, which was set by Rochelle Beardsley.
