Waterloo Community Schools Superintendent Dr. Jane Lindaman has announced her retirement, according to KWWL. Lindaman’s retirement will be effective at the end of the current school year. She began her time in the district as the principal of Bunger Middle School in 2005. After becoming superintendent she oversaw the development of the Waterloo Career Center among many other things. The Board of Education will begin searching for Lindaman’s successor soon with the position likely to be posted in November. Lindaman was initially scheduled to retire in 2023 but she says personal developments in her family, especially the death of her sister led to the change. She and her husband plan to stay in Waterloo where their kids go to school.
