Track, Golf and Tennis Have Big Day

Thursday the Northeast Iowa Conference Track and Field Meet was held at Crestwood.

In girls action Decoarh won, followed by Charles City and then Waverly-Shell Rock. The Go-Hawks had several champions including Regan Dahlquist in high jump, Brittney Young in the 100 hurdles, Emma Hoins in the 1,500 meter run and the shuttle hurdle relay team of Regan Dahlquist, Haley Eckerman, Abby Bechtel and Britney Young.

On the boys side Decorah won with the Go-Hawks finishing second. Waverly-Shell Rock conference champions included: Mosai Newsom in the discus, Sam Kepford in the 800 meter run, Andrew Schwab in the 400 meter dash and the 4×800 meter relay team of Sam Kepford, Kyle Kueker, Elijah Davis and Luke Stromberg.

Thursday the Waverly-Shell Rock girls tennis team went 12-0 in their quad against Aplington-Parkersburg, Clear Lake and Osage.

Thursday the Waverly-Shell Rock boys golf team beat Decorah 331-364. Go-Hawk Hogan Hansen was the medalist with a 74 in the 18 hole event.
