Monday night in the men’s National Championship Game the Tar Heels of North Carolina won their 6th title and 3rd National Championship under coach Roy Williams as they defeated Gonzaga 71-65. The Bulldogs had an opportunity to tie until North Carolina got a steal and dunk that sealed the game. The win avenges last year’s heartbreaking loss in the title game to Villanova. It was Gonzaga’s first appearance in the Championship Game.
