Teen Accused of Sex Extortion Schemes

A Mason City teen has been accused of sex extortion schemes in three different counties. 18 year old Christian Gossweiler has already been given two years of probation and a five year suspended prison sentence after pleading guilty in Story County. Court records say in that case he met an Iowa State University student online using an assumed name. The student sent Gossweiler a naked photo. Gossweiler threatened to show that photo to the student’s family and friends if she didn’t do what he wanted or if she blocked him on social media. Gossweiler is accused of doing something similar in Black Hawk County. He will go on trial there on April 16th after he allegedly threatened to release naked photos and videos of another woman if she didn’t have sex with him. In a connected case in Scott County, Gossweiler is charged with extortion for allegedly trying to collect more photos of the woman involved in the case in Black Hawk County.
