University of Northern Iowa head football coach Mark Farley has added two assistants with ties to the Panther program as the start of the 2017 season draws near.
Farley announced the addition of D.J. Vokolek and D.P. Eyman for the 2017 season. Vokolek will fill the role as assistant head coach and will serve as the linebackers coach. Eyman will be an offensive assistant coach and will handle the duties as the running backs coach.
Vokolek is returning for his second stint on the Panther coaching staff. Vokolek’s previous tenure at UNI included his role as defensive coordinator on the 2005 Panther team that reached the FCS national championship game.
Eyman is coming back to his alma mater following coaching stops at Florida Atlantic University, San Jose State University, Concordia University-St. Paul, Colorado School of Mines and Iowa City High School. Eyman was a member of the UNI football squad from 2005-2009, where he played quarterback and wide receiver.
With the addition of Vokolek and Eyman, UNI’s on-field coaching positions are set for the 2017 season. UNI players reported to camp Wednesday to begin preparation for the season opener at Iowa State on September 2nd.
