UNI Scholar All-Americans

The National Wrestling Coaches Association named three UNI Panther wrestlers Scholar All-American Award Winners.
Bryce Steiert, Jay Schwarm and Max Thomsen were all recognized by the association for their combined academic and wrestling performances.

The former Waverly-Shell Rock Go-Hawk Steiert finished with a 27-3 mark and was the fifth seed in the NCAA Championship after capturing his first Big 12 title. He had two pins and a major decision win in the Big 12 Championship, including the only fall in the title round. His team point total of 24 points was the most of any wrestler in the field in Tulsa. His three losses on the year are all against top-11 opponents and they were by a total of four points, including a sudden victory loss. He was named First-Team All-American by the NWCA. In the classroom, he tallied a 3.26 GPA in Business Administration. This is Steiert’s third NWCA Scholar Award.
