Monday night in girls soccer on KWAY Country the Waverly-Shell Rock girls beat Spencer 2-1 to win a Regional Championship. Miranda Kurtt and Natalie Langan scored for the Go-Hawks to propel them to State for the 12th time. Waverly-Shell Rock will play Thursday at 3:15 versus Union La Porte City at Cownie Soccer Park in Des Moines. The 6-seed Go-Hawks and 3-seed Knights met once in the regular season and Union won 1-0.
Monday night in girls soccer on Y99.3 the Denver girls beat Waterloo Columbus 3-2 in overtime. With the win the Cyclones win a Regional title and are headed to State. Denver will play Thursday at 12:15 as the 5-seed versus 4-seed Nevada in the quarterfinals.
