Monday night on KWAY Country the Waverly-Shell Rock girls soccer team crushed Mt. Vernon 10-0. The match ended with 8:32 remaining on the clock. Kenzie Roling and Macy Smith each had 4 goals, Hailee Kent and Makayla Reed each added a goal for the Go-Hawks.
With the win the Go-Hawks advance to play in the State Tournament Quarterfinals Thursday at 2:00 in Des Moines. W-SR is the 2-seed and will play 7-seed Lewis Central in a rematch of last year’s title match that Lewis Central won 1-0.
