Tuesday at the Girls’ State Basketball Tournament on Y99.3 the Waverly-Shell Rock Go-Hawks ended their season losing to Mason City 55-49. The Go-Hawks had led by as many as 4 points at one point but didn’t make enough plays down the stretch to beat a very good Mohawk team. Waverly-Shell Rock was led by Abbie Draper who had 19 points and 8 rebounds.
The Go-Hawks finish the season with only three losses, two to Mason City and one to Crestwood who also was a State Tournament team. The Go-Hawks graduate two players from this year’s team.
