On Saturday the girls soccer State Tournament concluded. Waverly-Shell Rock took on 2-time defending champs Lewis Central. In the end of a competitive game where the Go-Hawks outplayed the Titans for much of the contest it was Lewis Central who won 1-0.
The Go-Hawks finished 2nd at State for the third time in school history and finished with a State-best 20-1 record.
Go-Hawks Sarah Campbell, Siri Ott and Kennedy Rieken were named to the All-Tournament Team.
In Class 1A Davenport Assumption crushed Bishop Heelan 8-0 and in Class 3A Ankeny Centennial won the all Ankeny final by a score of 3-2.
