The Waverly-Shell Rock boys basketball season came to a close Monday night on KWAY Country. Monday night in the Sub-State Quarterfinals the Go-Hawks lost to Algona 66-53. The Go-Hawks had an anemic offense in the first half that only scored 7 points before roaring back in the second half to pull within 10, but the Bulldogs hit their free throws down the stretch to secure the win. Josh Halverson led the Go-Hawks with 12 points.
Waverly-Shell Rock finishes 9-12 on the year.
