Tuesday night on KWAY Country the Waverly-Shell Rock baseball team swept Decorah to take over sole possession of first place in the Northeast Iowa Conference with only two league doubleheaders remaining.
Tuesday night in Game 1 the Go-Hawk beat the Vikings 14-1 in 5 innings as pitcher Abram Wrage walked none and struck out 9 and Nolan Foster hit a solo home run. In Game 2 the Go-Hawks trailed the Vikings 8-5 going into the bottom of the 6th where they scored four to win it 9-8.
Waverly-Shell Rock will host Charles City on Thursday and then has Crestwood next week.
