The state committee charged with finding athletic conferences for schools will be meeting with Waverly-Shell Rock, Decorah and possibly impacted schools Wednesday from 9:00 to 5:00 in Des Moines. Waverly-Shell Rock will submit to the committee its preference is to join the WaMac, a brand new conference in the area or the Mississippi Valley Conference, in that order. The committee is supposed to announce their decision by May 8th and an appeal process will follow that.
Waverly-Shell Rock has been in conference limbo since they were voted out of the Northeast Iowa Conference four years ago.
